PRIMAVERA Reinforces Strategic Investment in the Public Sector

To consolidate its presence in the Portuguese market and expand its foothold in the African markets are the objectives of the national technology company for 2014.

With over a decade’s experience in delivering projects for the Public Sector, the Portuguese multinational company PRIMAVERA BSS has just announced that it has brought together, under one brand name, its entire portfolio of management solutions and consulting services for meeting the specific needs of public entities. With the PRIMAVERA Public Setor brand name, the company aims to consolidate its presence in the Portuguese market and expand its presence in the Portuguese-speaking community of African countries.

With a consolidated turnover of 17.8 million euros in 2013, PRIMAVERA saw the Public Sector contribute with 6.5% of this value, with its portfolio currently including entities such as the Collective Transport Society of Porto (STCP), the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere and the University of Porto in the Portuguese market; Sonangol, Gesterra and Cinfotec in the Angolan market; or the Water Supply Investment and Assets Fund (FIPAG) and Imopetro, in the Mozambican market.

At the same time, PRIMAVERA is investing around one million euros in a new version of its solution for the Public Sector, which will be launched before the end of the year and which will fully satisfy the requirements of any entity, whether from the State business sector, Central Administration or Municipal Companies and Foundations.

"The manifold implementations carried out in the last 15 years in Local and Central Public Administrations have given us the know-how and experience necessary for the development of a comprehensive portfolio of products that is fully adjusted to the management requirements of the Public Sector”, says David Afonso, Senior Vice President of PRIMAVERA BSS. "The high rate of integration and the profound extendibility of PRIMAVERA solutions ensure full data flow between the central management system and the various complementary applications implemented in these entities, providing access to highly rigorous tax, financial and management information”.

With proprietary costs that are lower than the market average, the products offered under the Public Setor brand name support and streamline all the central management processes of public entities through an array of fully interconnected operational areas, such as Finance, Human Resource, Logistics, among others. In addition to the (ERP) PRIMAVERA business management software, other management solutions are also available, namely Office Extensions, Business Analytics, Maintenance and Qpoint, which optimize financial and management reporting, equipment maintenance, quality and performance, and process digitalization.

The management solutions offered under the PRIMAVERA Public Setor brand name are certified by the Portuguese Directorate-General for the Budget (DGO), which has attested to the conformity of the products with respect to the legal requirements laid out in Circular Letter Series A no. 1369, namely instructions on budget inclusions, commitments, implementation and consolidation of the budget, as well as technical and computer specifications for the reception of information in the Official Public Accounting Plan (POCP) and POC-Education originating from autonomous services and funds that use computer applications different from the RIGORE-local (Integrated State Resource Management Network).
